A story of the French Resistance on the French Riviera during 1940 – 1945 loosely based upon the exploits of Colonel Eric Sawyer and Barry Diercks. The two men were amongst the leading landscape gardeners and architects based on the French Riviera during the 1920′s and 1930′s. Diercks a brilliant American Architect from Pitsburgh designed many of the most magnificent villas on the Riviera between the World Wars. He was responsible fir the “Chateau de l’Horizon at Golfe-Juan and for some twenty sumptuous villas on
Cap d’ Antibes alone, including the”Villa L’Aujourd’ hui” which was built for
Jack Warner of Warner Bros in Hollywood. Added to which he remodelled the “Villa La Mauresque for the great novelist/playwright Somerset Maughan, on St. Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Colonel Sawyer designed and landscaped many of the most beautiful gardens on the Riviera which complimented the superb properties deigned by Barry Diercks.
